We are commanded by Yeshua to sell our possessions,
So therefore every one of you who does not give up all that he himself possesses, is not able to be my disciple.
Luke 14:33
Yeshua answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
Matthew 19:21
When Yeshua heard his answer, he said, “There is still one thing you haven’t done. Sell your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
Luke 18:22
Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will never fail, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys.
Luke 12:33
And Yeshua, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, “You lack one thing: go, sell as much as you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.”
Mark 10:21
Which he commanded not because having possessions is intrinsically evil, but because we must “lower ourselves”,
Lower yourselves before the Master, and he will exalt you.
James 4:10
Which is precisely what the assemblies did at the instruction of the apostles, they lowered themselves by selling their possessions,
They sold their possessions and properties…
Acts 2:45
Because we have all sinned against the commands of God written in his Torah,
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God
Romans 3:23
For he who said, “Do not commit adultery,” also said, “Do not murder.” If you do not commit adultery but do murder, you have become a transgressor of the Torah.
James 2:11
Which therefore makes us all worthy of death, because whoever disobeys the Torah deserves to die, because the Torah is the Law of God,
Though they know the righteous requirement of God that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.
Romans 1:32
If a man commits adultery with the wife of his neighbor, both the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.
Leviticus 20:10
If a man lies with an animal, he shall surely be put to death, and you shall kill the animal.
Leviticus 20:15
For whoever keeps the whole Torah but fails in one point has become guilty of all of it.
James 2:10
For I delight in the law of God, in my inward man
Romans 7:22
So to receive mercy from God, and not render unto us the death we deserve, it is necessary to “lower ourselves”, also referred to as “humbling ourselves”, which is why the Messiah deprived himself of his former glory, and lowered himself by taking the form of a servant, to set an example of what we must also do and the form we must also take by lowering ourselves, to become like “servants”,
And now, Father, glorify me in your own presence with the glory that I had with you before the world existed.
John 17:5
who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God as something to take hold of, but deprived himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in the form of man, he lowered himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.
Philippians 2:6-8
And Yeshua said to him, “Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head.”
Luke 9:58
If I then, your Master and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I have given you an example, that you also should do just as I have done to you.
John 13:14-15
Then Yeshua told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.
Matthew 16:24
But Yeshua called them to him and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles are masters over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them. It shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be your bond-servant, even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life for the purchase of many.”
Matthew 20:25-28
whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked.
1 John 2:6
For to this you have been called, because the Messiah also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in his steps.
1 Peter 2:21
Be imitators of me, as I also am of the Messiah.
1 Corinthians 11:1
Which relates to the destruction God decreed over Nineveh, because of its lawlessness, yet when the Ninevites heard the word of God from the mouth of Jonah, they wisely chose to heed the warning and act upon it, not just by ceasing to do the evil they were about to be destroyed for, but also by lowering themselves in a different way, by fasting, which was denying themselves the necessity and also pleasure of food,
Jonah began to go into the city, going a day’s journey. And he called out, “Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown!” The Ninevites believed God. A fast was proclaimed, and all of them, from the greatest to the least, put on sackcloth. When Jonah’s warning reached the king of Nineveh, he rose from his throne, took off his royal robes, covered himself with sackcloth and sat down in the dust. This is the proclamation he issued in Nineveh: “By the decree of the king and his nobles: Do not let people or animals, herds or flocks, taste anything; do not let them eat or drink, but let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and let them call out mightily to God. Let everyone turn from his evil way and from the violence that is in his hands. Who knows? God may turn and relent and turn from his fierce anger, so that we may not perish.”
Jonah 3:4-9
And because of what they did, their repentance along with lowering themselves, God had mercy over the Ninevites and spared the city,
Who knows? God may yet relent and with compassion turn from his fierce anger so that we will not perish.” When God saw what they did and how they turned from their evil ways, he relented and did not bring on them the destruction he had threatened.
Jonah 3:9-11
And this is why it is said, God opposes the proud, but gives favor to the humble,
But he gives more favor. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud but gives favor to the humble.”
James 4:6
Because even if a man should cease to do evil and become perfectly obedient to the commands of God, yet he chooses not to lower himself, God will resist him and not grant mercy, because he has still committed prior sins that already made him worthy of punishment, which therefore still makes it necessary for him to lower himself to receive mercy for his prior sins, along with everyone else in the world because everyone has sinned, and this is why the rich man Yeshua spoke to, who was perfectly obedient to the commands of God, found himself not able to enter the kingdom of God, because he did not want to lower himself by giving up his wealth,
And a ruler asked him, “Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit aeonial life?” And Yeshua said to him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone. You know the commandments: ‘Do not commit adultery, Do not murder, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honor your father and mother.’” And he said, “All these I have kept from my youth.” When Yeshua heard this, he said to him, “One thing you still lack. Sell all that you have and distribute to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.” But when he heard these things, he became very sad, for he was extremely rich. Yeshua, seeing that he had become sad, said, “How difficult it is for those who have wealth to enter the kingdom of God! For it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.”
Luke 18:18-25
And this also relates to the Israelites, who before they entered into the land of their inheritance, God lowered them, by making them wander in the desert 40 years as sojourners, and also making them take off their jewelry during that time,
For the Master had said to Moses, “Say to the people of Israel, ‘You are a stiff-necked people; if for a single moment I should go up among you, I would consume you. So now take off your jewelry, that I may know what to do with you.’” Therefore the people of Israel stripped themselves of their jewelry, from Mount Horeb onward.
Exodus 33:5-6
And you shall remember the whole way that the Master your God has led you these forty years in the wilderness, that he might lower you, testing you to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep his commandments or not.
Deuteronomy 8:2
And also Abraham, who before he would receive the land of his inheritance, which would be at the resurrection of the dead at the second coming of the Messiah, he was lowly as a sojourner in the land he would one day inherit,
the Master said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him, “Lift up your eyes and look from the place where you are, northward and southward and eastward and westward, for all the land that you see I will give to you and to your offspring aeonially.
Genesis 13:14-15
By belief he went to live in the land of promise, as in a foreign land, living in tents with Isaac and Jacob, heirs with him of the same promise.
Hebrews 11:9
For the promise to Abraham and his offspring that he would be heir of the world did not come through the Torah but through the righteousness of belief.
Romans 4:13
These all died in belief, not having received the things promised, but having seen them and greeted them from afar, and having acknowledged that they were strangers and exiles on the earth.
Hebrews 11:13
For the Master himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in the Messiah will rise first.
1 Thessalonians 4:16
But go your way till the end. And you shall rest and shall stand in your allotted place at the end of the days.
Daniel 12:13
Your father Abraham rejoiced that he would see my day. He saw it and was glad.
John 8:56
And by a person selling his possessions to reduce himself to necessities, to become like a sojourner who has little, and begins to serve others rather than serve himself, like a servant, even removing all jewelry and not wearing expensive clothes, and also women not wearing cosmetics, then a person has truly “lowered himself”, which is all done through belief in Yeshua, which is also as necessary as becoming lowly, to serve the poor and do good works,
if my people, who are called by my name, will lower themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
2 Chronicles 7:14
For the Master, who is high and lifted up, looks upon the humble, but the proud he knows from afar.

He mocks proud mockers but shows favor to the humble and oppressed.
Proverbs 3:34
Beloved, I urge you as sojourners and exiles…
1 Peter 2:11
likewise also that women should adorn themselves in respectable apparel, with modesty and self-control, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly attire
1 Timothy 2:9
For consider your calling, brothers: not many of you were wise according to worldly standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth. But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, so that no human being might boast in the presence of God.
1 Corinthians 1:26-29
Blessed are the poor in airflow, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 5:3
Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.
Matthew 5:5
And this is why someone who is pursuing wealth cannot enter the kingdom of God,
No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.
Matthew 6:24
“No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.” The Pharisees, who loved money, heard all this and were sneering at Yeshua.

Luke 6:24
Now listen, you rich people, weep and wail because of the misery that is coming on you.
James 5:1
For the sun rises with scorching heat and withers the plant; its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed. In the same way, the rich will fade away even while they go about their business.
James 1:11
Because his focus is on exalting and serving himself by pursing wealth, rather than lowering himself to begin serving others, and thus, he is doing the opposite of what is required to enter into the kingdom of God,
The Kingdom of Heaven is like a treasure that a man discovered hidden in a field. In his excitement, he hid it again and sold everything he owned to get enough money to buy the field.
Matthew 13:44
Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s favor in its various forms.

Acts 26:20
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Master, Master,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
Matthew 7:21
And by lowering himself by having little and also serving others rather than serving himself, then can a man become exalted at the second coming of the Messiah, because God does not intend to keep his people lowly permanently, but rather he intends to exalt his people after he has tested them, just as he tested the Israelites in the desert before they inherited their land, which will not only include receiving new bodies that are immortal and do not grow old, which will also be glorified to illuminate light, but also inherit the entire earth, and receive wealth beyond measure, more than anyone can do for himself in this current time, and given authority to rule over the earth over nations, and also given authority to sit on thrones to judge the world, and receive great honor, and this is why having possessions is not intrinsically evil, because God wants us to have possessions, and an abundance of it, but first we must have little, to then have much, first we must lower ourselves, to then be exalted,
For those who exalt themselves will be lowered, and those who lowered themselves will be exalted.
Matthew 23:12

1 Corinthians 6:2-3
I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony about Yeshua and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with the Messiah a thousand years.
Revelation 20:4
The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and set-apart are those who share in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of the Messiah and will reign with him for a thousand years.

Daniel 7:27
The airflow of the Master the Master is upon me, for the Master has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed. He has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time of the the Master’s favor has come, and with it, the day of God’s anger against their enemies. To all who mourn in Israel, he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair. In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the Master has planted for his own glory. They will rebuild the ancient ruins, repairing cities destroyed long ago. They will revive them, though they have been deserted for many generations. Foreigners will be your servants. They will feed your flocks and plow your fields and tend your vineyards. You will be called priests of the Master, ministers of our God. You will feed on the treasures of the nations and boast in their riches. Instead of shame and dishonor, you will enjoy a double share of honor. You will possess a double portion of prosperity in your land, and aeonial joy will be yours.

You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth.
Revelation 5:10
Which is why before the Messiah received great authority to rule over all heaven and earth, he was first lowly, and a servant,

Revelation 2:27
Then Yeshua came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
Matthew 28:18
But it shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be bond-servant of all. For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a purchase for many.
Mark 10:43-45
And this is why God has chosen the lowly and poor of the world, to eventually confound the exalted and wealthy of the world,
And he has chosen those of low descent in the world and the rejects and those who are nothing, to nullify those who are,
1 Corinthians 1:28
Remember, dear brothers and sisters, that few of you were wise in the world’s eyes or powerful or wealthy when God called you.
1 Corinthians 1:26
For God has chosen the foolish of the world to shame the wise, and he has chosen the weak of the world to shame the mighty. And he has chosen those of low descent in the world and the rejects and those who are nothing, to nullify those who are, That no one will boast before him.
1 Corinthians 1:27-29
And this is why many are prevented from entering into the kingdom of God, because of their love of money which then causes them to refuse to sell their possessions to reduce themselves to little,
For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the belief and pierced themselves with many griefs.
1 Timothy 6:10
but the worries of this life, the deceitfulness of wealth and the desires for other things come in and choke the word, making it unfruitful.
Mark 4:19
It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”
Mark 10:25
Do not toil to acquire wealth; be discerning enough to desist. When your eyes light on it, it is gone, for suddenly it sprouts wings, flying like an eagle toward heaven.
Proverbs 23:4-5
Which includes many believers today, who rather than lower themselves in this specific way commanded by the Messiah, they enrich themselves, even using the gospel to do so, such as the many megachurch pastors that exist today, who make millions of dollars, and fly around in their private jets and drive around in their expensive cars and live in their luxurious mansions,
Unlike so many, we do not peddle the word of God for profit. On the contrary, in the Messiah we speak before God with sincerity, as those sent from God.
1 Timothy 6:8
As such, “sell your possessions” does not necessarily mean sell everything, including the clothes you are wearing, it means “reduce yourself to necessities”, some will reduce themselves more than others, such as the apostles, who reduced themselves to just their clothes, and maybe a staff,
And he said to them, “Take nothing for your journey, no staff, nor bag, nor bread, nor money; and do not have two tunics.
Luke 9:3
He charged them to take nothing for their journey except if only a staff—no bread, no bag, no money in their belts— but to wear sandals and not put on two tunics.
Mark 6:8-9
And “sell your properties” means reduce yourself to owning no land or only the land you need, such as Abraham, who even though he was a sojourner in the land of Canaan, he purchased a land in Canaan, to bury his dead, which was a necessity,
in the cave that is in the field at Machpelah, to the east of Mamre, in the land of Canaan, which Abraham bought with the field from Ephron the Hittite to possess as a burying place.
Genesis 49:30
And the believers in former assemblies reduced themselves by not only selling their possessions, but also their properties,
…For from time to time those who owned land or houses sold them…
Acts 4:34-35
But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the set-apart airflow and to keep back for yourself part of the proceeds of the land? While it remained unsold, did it not remain your own? And after it was sold, was it not at your disposal? Why is it that you have contrived this deed in your heart? You have not lied to man but to God.”
Acts 5:3-4
Yet after they sold their excess of properties, unlike the apostles who went house to house to share the gospel, not even living in their own houses,
Whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace be to this house!’ And if a son of peace is there, your peace will rest upon him. But if not, it will return to you. And remain in the same house, eating and drinking what they provide, for the laborer deserves his wages. Do not go from house to house. Whenever you enter a town and they receive you, eat what is set before you.
Luke 10:5-8
They lived in their houses that they continued to own or rented, having less than before, just as Paul eventually rented a house for a time,
And Paul stayed a whole space of two years in his own hired house, and gladly received all the ones entering to him,
Acts 28:30
And it was in these houses they continued to live in where they assembled,
You greet the brethren in Laodicea, and Nymphas, and the assembly in his house!
Colossians 4:15
and the assembly at their house. Greet Epaenetus my beloved, who is a first-fruit of Achaia for the Messiah!
Romans 16:5
and to Apphia the beloved, and Archippus our fellow-soldier, and to the assembly at your house.
Philemon 1:2
And this is why “sell your possessions and properties” means “reduce yourself to necessities”, because it is evident from scripture that not every believer lowered themselves in the same measure as the apostles, because they continued living in their own houses, while the apostles reduced themselves to their own clothes they were wearing and went house to house, which is why there were even rich men among the believers who were told to be ready to share, not because they had not reduced themselves in possessions and all properties like the rest of the believers, but because they had much money left over after the sale of their possessions and properties, which in those times was gold and silver,
As for the rich in this present aeon, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy. They are to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share
1 Timothy 6:17-18
As such, the necessities the former believers reduced themselves to they kept around their houses, and in this way, all believers reduced themselves in different measures while still fulfilling “sell your possessions and properties”, yet those who lowered themselves more, like the apostles, will be exalted more than those who lowered themselves less,
For whoever is the least among all of you, he is the greatest.
Luke 9:48
And this is why we are instructed by the Messiah to be content with sufficiency, and to believe that God will provide for our necessities,
Do not then be anxious! saying, What shall we eat, or what shall we drink, or what should be worn?
Matthew 6:31
and constant friction among people who are depraved in mind and deprived of the truth, imagining that godliness is a means of gain. But piety with contentment is great gain, for we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world. But if we have food and clothing, with these we will be content.
1 Timothy 6:5-8
Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”
Hebrews 13:5
Keep deception and lies far from me, Give me neither poverty nor riches; Feed me with the food that is my portion,
Proverbs 30:8
Just as God provided for the Israelites in a desert, raining food on them so they could eat, and guiding them along the way to the land they would eventually inherit,
I have led you forty years in the wilderness. Your clothes have not worn out on you, and your sandals have not worn off your feet.
Deuteronomy 29:5
And he lowered you and let you hunger and fed you with manna, which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that he might make you know that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word that comes from the mouth of the Master. Your clothing did not wear out on you and your foot did not swell these forty years. Know then in your heart that, as a man disciplines his son, the Master your God disciplines you.
Deuteronomy 8:3-5
And so, in our current time, necessities can include pots, pans, dinnerware, silverware, laptop, phone, tools, pens, notebooks, bibles, bicycle, and various other things that can be considered “necessities” to do necessary things, and possibly one house to live in, whether owned or rented, and should be no more than what a sojourner in a foreign land would have, and once a new believer sells his excess of possessions and properties, he is to keep his money to continue covering his own basic needs, while also giving to anyone in need, and and giving a place to live or lodge to those who have no place to live or lodge, especially to believers in need within the assemblies, which is why after the former believers sold their possessions and properties, there was a contribution of money that was distributed from the sale of the possessions and properties to cover the needs of every believer, so that everyone’s needs were met and no one was lacking, and this is why the Messiah said, “there is no one who has left house or lands, for my sake and for the gospel, who will not receive a hundredfold now in this time, houses and lands, with persecutions, and in the aeon to come aeonial life”, for the intention of lowering yourself is not to be left with nothing, but to reduce yourself only to what you need, and freely share what you have with others,
Yeshua said, “Truly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands, for my sake and for the gospel, who will not receive a hundredfold now in this time, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions, and in the aeon to come aeonial life.
Mark 10:29-30
that there were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned land or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales and put it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to anyone who had need.
Acts 4:34-35
They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need.
Acts 2:45
Now the full number of those who believed were of one heart and soul, and no one said that any of the things that belonged to him was his own, but they had everything in common.
Acts 4:32
We want you to know, brothers, about the favor of God that has been given among the assemblies of Macedonia, for in a severe test of affliction, their abundance of joy and their extreme poverty have overflowed in a wealth of generosity on their part. For they gave according to their means, as I can testify, and beyond their means, of their own accord, begging us earnestly for the favor of taking part in the relief of the set-apart ones— and this, not as we expected, but they gave themselves first to the Master and then by the will of God to us. Accordingly, we urged Titus that as he had started, so he should complete among you this act of favor. But as you excel in everything—in belief, in speech, in knowledge, in all earnestness, and in our love for you—see that you excel in this act of favor also. I say this not as a command, but to prove by the earnestness of others that your love also is genuine. For you know the grace of our Master Yeshua Messiah, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you by his poverty might become rich. And in this matter I give my judgment: this benefits you, who a year ago started not only to do this work but also to desire to do it. So now finish doing it as well, so that your readiness in desiring it may be matched by your completing it out of what you have. For if the readiness is there, it is acceptable according to what a person has, not according to what he does not have. For I do not mean that others should be eased and you burdened, but that as a matter of fairness your abundance at the present time should supply their need, so that their abundance may supply your need, that there may be equality. As it is written, “Whoever gathered much had nothing left over, and whoever gathered little had no lack.”
2 Corinthians 8:1-15
